The Slate is rated BREEAM Excellent and EPC A-rating targeted. Windows are energy efficient to reduce the need for artificial lighting and heating.
Heating is provided by A district heating system, helping to reduce energy consumption by 13%. 70% of lighting in Scarman and Radcliffe are energy efficient LED.
75% of dishes are freshly prepared from unprocessed ingredients. No fish is served from the Marine Conservation Society ‘fish to avoid’ list. The facilities only serve 100% British free range eggs, laid by hens that enjoy a healthy diet and have space to roam.
All meat is procured from farms satisfying UK Animal Welfare standards. Free drinking water is widely available and encouraged with no single use cups. Seasonal menus are designed for events.
Free charging points for people who use energy efficient electric vehicles. Bikes are available to hire to get around campus whilst minimising consumption of fossil fuels. The campus has great public transport connections.
The postcode for the veunue is CV4 7SH and it is located within the University of Warwick campus.
For Scarman, Radcliffe and The Slate follow signs for Lakeside Village, you’ll then find signposts for the venues. Central Campus Venues is located on central campus, which is signposted off Gibbet Hill Road.
Coventry is on the West Coast Mainline and serviced by regular trains, 7 days a week and is the most convenient train station for most visitors. It is served by trains from London Euston, Birmingham (New Street and International) and Leicester. From Coventry Station, it’s easy to get a taxi or bus.
Canley and Tile Hill train stations are both served by trains from London, Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Coventry, Rugby and Northampton. Neither station has a taxi rank, so if you don’t want to walk, book a taxi in advance. Leamington Spa is served by trains from Birmingham, Coventry, Oxford, Reading and London Marylebone. You can get a bus to the venue from close to the station.
There are regular buses from the Coventry city centre, Coventry rail station and Leamington Spa. Taxis are easily available from these location. From Coventry, the 11 and 12 bus routes both serve Warwick Conferences. Both buses call at the Rail Station Bridge SD stop on Warwick Road; a one-minute walk from Coventry station.
From Leamington Spa, the U1 and U2 buses serve Warwick Conferences. Both services stop at Parish Church Stand B; a seven-minute walk from Leamington Spa station.
The closest airport is Birmingham International Airport. A taxi to Warwick Conferences from the airport will take approximately 20 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a direct train to Coventry from Birmingham International station which is located at the airport. London Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton airports are all connected to Coventry by National Express coach services. Alternatively, you can take the train to Coventry, with a change in central London.
